The big four, step by step

Long Operations

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide big numbers one step at a time — with every carry, borrow, and partial product checked in place.

Long Operations is launching soon. Create a free account and we will email you the moment it opens — your account and progress carry over.

Marking the whole problem wrong teaches nothing

A long division problem has a dozen steps. When a student gets a red X, they rarely know which of those steps went wrong — so they repeat the same mistake on the next problem, and the next.

Long Operations checks the work where it happens. Write a partial product in the wrong column and it says so immediately, explains why the column matters, and lets the student fix just that step. The algorithm becomes something they understand instead of something they survive.

Good for

  • Students who "get it" on small numbers but fall apart on big ones
  • Anyone who hates long division (so, most people)
  • Filling gaps before Pre-Algebra and Algebra I

What it covers

Long addition & subtraction

Carrying and borrowing checked column by column, including ragged decimals.

Long multiplication

Partial products, placeholders, and the final sum — each piece checked where you write it.

Long division

Divide, multiply, subtract, bring down. The loop is taught explicitly, then practiced until it is automatic.

Decimals & remainders

Move the decimal, keep the place value, and decide what to do with what is left over.
