About us

We build the math practice we wish we'd had

Red Rocks Math is a small team of teachers and engineers in Colorado, building tools that explain the next step instead of just grading the last one.

Our mission

Math is a chain. Facts hold up operations, operations hold up fractions and algebra, and one weak link can take down everything built on top of it. Most practice tools grade the final answer and leave students to guess which link broke. We build the opposite: software that watches the work, finds the weak link, and teaches it.

Avatar teachers

Every Red Rocks Math program is guided by an avatar teacher. They introduce each lesson, work examples out loud, point out the step that went sideways, and keep students moving through their personalized program. Students pick the teacher they like and keep them across every product — facts, operations, mini-courses, and full courses.

Avatar teachers aren't a gimmick. Having a consistent voice explain the same method the same way, every day, is a big part of why students stick with a program long enough to get good at it.

How we teach

  • Practice should be fun. Games, dragons, and streaks earn the daily habit.
  • Paths should be personal. No two students have the same gaps, so no two paths are the same.
  • Help should be step-by-step. An answer ends the problem; an explanation ends the confusion.
  • Mastery should be proven. Skills are checked, re-checked, and mixed back in later.

Accessibility

We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA: keyboard navigation everywhere, visible focus, readable contrast, and text alternatives for anything visual. We're not perfect yet. If something on this site or in one of our apps is hard to use with a screen reader, keyboard, or magnifier, email hello@redrocksmath.com and we'll fix it.
